new to yoga?

The only prerequisite for starting a yoga practice is being able to breathe...yes, breathe. If you can breathe, you can practice yoga.

First, let's dispel some of the rumors...yoga isn't solely for the athletic, or naturally flexible. Nor is it only for female practitioners! A yoga practice is open to both genders, of any age, any physical disposition and cuts across socio-economic boundaries that may otherwise deter curious practitioners. 



So if you can breathe, great, you're on the right track! Now let's move on to self-awareness. When undertaking any new discipline, one must carefully assess their current health (both mentally and physically). When you come to class, come with everything you are, your insecurities, your injuries, even your goofy laugh that may slip out during class! The point here is to be aware of your current condition (you're still breathing right?) and acknowledge your current limitations...for these can and will change in the future. So come with an open mind, your breath...and your laugh.



*Lazy Dog PaddleYoga is lucky  to have instructors that teach traditional studio classes and are well respected in the Key West yoga community. We would be happy to set up a private yoga session to make you feel as comfortable as needed before you head out on the water. 

new to SUP?

Part of the reason Stand-Up Paddleboarding is so wildly popular is its' accessibility to anyone that is willing to try! If you are reading this, odds are you are interested and willing to try...so you've already done half the work! Now it's up to our instructors to get you paddling. Our goal is to provide clear and precise instructions while presenting quality information along with demonstration of proper technique...keep in mind we want to have you coming back, so it's in our best interest to make you feel as comfortable and confident as possible.

With that in mind, our instructors will size you for a suitable paddle and board size that will accommodate your yoga practice. Our instructors are PaddleFit Level 2 Certified and are heavily involved in local workshops, race training programs, children's SUP camps, and introducing SUP to the Special Olympics of Monroe County.



If you would like to set up a private paddling session to work on SUP skills and technique, we would be more than happy to paddle with you! In other words, we really love sharing and introducing discipline of SUP, almost as much as we love sharing yoga...almost.
