Tara’s love for the ocean began in 1990 when she sailed across the Atlantic on the 135 ft Schooner Westward. She was a student with SEA (Sea Education Association), a program focusing on nautical science, marine science, and maritime studies. The ocean was now her calling, her home. She spent many years seeking oceanic adventures traveling from Alaska to the Caribbean and north to the Bay of Fundy. Finally landing in Key West, Tara completed her training as a USCG 100 ton Master.   

Her Yoga journey began in 2001 and she became trained in Sampoorna Yoga in 2007 after studying with Yogi Hari in Miramar, Florida. She is presently acquiring her 500 hour training in Krama Vinyasa with Ruslan Kleytman. The knowledge Tara wishes to gain is endless and Yoga reminds her that we all need to celebrate our unique gifts and to remain authentic, always! 


She was introduced to SUP in 2008 by Lazy Dog owner Sue Cooper and shortly there after created a yoga class on board SUP. Lazy Dog PaddleYoga was born and in 2010 she began to lead PaddleYoga teacher trainings which evolved into a multi-certification training endorsed by the WPA and ACE. The program is also continuing education for Yoga teachers registered with the Yoga Alliance. On terra firma, Tara teaches classes, leads kirtans, and co teaches a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training  at Shakti Yoga, Key West.

Holly is a serious student of yoga with a
passion for knowledge and is fascinated by
the human condition. She aspires to share
with students how a well-maintained yoga
practice can extinguish personal suffering and
liberate us! Holly's sense of humor on and
off the mat helps to remind us that we are
indeed playful beings. She is a travel
enthusiast and enjoys celebrating her
adventurous side through paddling, surfing, hiking, dancing, and writing poetry. As a Native of Florida, she has spent her entire life by the water. She served 6 years in The United States Navy as a Dental Assistant and recently left her profession after 20 years to pursue yoga and stand-up,paddling instruction. Her connection to our Ocean Mother has only deepened through Paddle Yoga practice and we hope yours will do the same!
